I was honored to receive this award from a dear friend of mine-Kellie Jo Holly. She has been an inspiration to me on a very personal level. She is also a survivor of Domestic Abuse and has used her strength to now encourage others like me. Kellie has also started a great charity called The Emergency Fund. It helps aid survivors of Domestic Abuse from not being forced back into the abusive relationship because of financial difficulties or lack of emotional support. How awesome is that? Her words of encouragement and insight have really inspired me to keep moving forward. You can read about her story of survival and find information about her charity at her blog http://verbalabusejournals.com/
So, to give back to the blogging community, receipt of this award comes with the following tasks:
▪ Display the award image on your blog.
▪ Link back to the person who nominated you.
▪ State 7 things about yourself.
▪ Nominate 10 – 15 other bloggers and link to their sites.
▪ Notify the bloggers that they have been nominated and link to the post.
2. I love to garden. I don't wear garden gloves so hence-I don't have pretty manicured hands. I'm not afraid of snakes, bugs, critters that may be lurking in the bushes and I climb trees occasionally just because..
3. My typical outfit during the week is a sports bra, tank, spandex and a baseball cap. I don't wear make-up except on date nights with my husband. I am a tom boy, but I clean up nicely when I want to.
4. I love to read. I'm often asked what kind of books I like to read and my answer is "Depends on my mood" I am hungry for information. I love history, science, inspirational, and non-fiction. I also enjoy mindless fiction. Currently on my Kindle, I am reading Leslie Morgan's book-Crazy Love, Proof of Heaven by Eben Alexander MD, and Seeing the Unseen by Joe Beam. I also have books on fitness, health, and understanding epilepsy. Whatever feeds my soul will be read by me.
5. I have 4 beautiful children that I love immensely and I know that all of them are going to do great things and change the world for the better.
6. I am with the greatest guy on the planet. He has stood by me in all my trials and now he gets to face menopause with me so I'm asking for prayers on behalf of his endurance with my mood swings. :)
7. I am at the beginning stages of writing a few books. It is a new venture that I am looking forward to. I may need to ask some of you that have achieved this for advice as it’s a challenge at times.
The blogs I find inspirational-
I hope you find inspiration and peace in these blogs just as much as I have. These wonderful people have inspired me to continue sharing my journey as a survivor and a advocate. I have learned that my voice is my power.
I want to thank Kellie for this wonderful award. It truly means alot to me. I pray all of you wake up with peace in your lives and love in your hearts. All of you have been a blessing to me. God is good.
